I'll just say this: "Under the Knife" was a blast to watch. And I would be perfectly fine if the series let Fish Mooney's storyline end where it currently stands. Fish was shot! Her helicopter is crashing! Is she ok? *shrugs*

The most promising part of "Under the Knife" is the mentor/pupil dynamic the Ogre tries to foster with Barbara Kean.

This was a decent enough episode, albeit a bit of a transitional one. Granted, we did get the future Riddler's first kill, so that was a pretty big deal.

Gotham appears to be falling back into the pattern that's defined most of this season, which involves convoluted storylines that stretch the characters (and audience's patience) thin and rely far too much on exposition to move the plot along.

It's killin' season in Gotham City, folks, and the killin' is good.

[The Ogre] storyline, while lacking in creativity, is working fairly well to this point and will hopefully bring much-needed action, and consequence, the next few weeks (perhaps further).

Gotham is struggling, and it's more apparent now than ever.

Even as the stakes of this series increase... I could not help but be fairly unexcited by how things were playing out.

Sometimes it's okay for super villains to find out they don't really mind murder, and maybe they ALSO love riddles. They can take their time with these things.

The Ogre definitely feels more of a threat now, even if he is a bit too obviously "Fifty Shades Of Gotham" Milo Ventimiglia is so convincing as a psycho killer it's going to be difficult to accept him as one of the "heroes" ever again.
