The series follows obstetrician gynecologist Mindy Lahiri as she tries to balance her personal and professional life, surrounded by quirky co-workers in a small medical practice in New York City. Mindy begins Season 3 of this comedy in unfamiliar territory: she's in a steady relationship with Danny, a fellow ob-gyn at Shulman & Associates, but as coworkers, she wants to keep their romance a secret.

I wish The Mindy Project had the audience size it deserves; as a romantic workplace-comedy, it's better than most of the Hollywood feature films in this genre that have been released during this show's existence. Tell your friends.

Pulling off the developing relationship sitcom is close to achieving the impossible. But if Mindy keeps capitalizing on its strong supporting cast and the solid gold of the Mindy-Danny chemistry, these two might just make it after all

But the core of the show is Mindy and Danny more than ever before and the premiere suggested that core is enough to carry the show as a whole as it continues its never-ending tinkering around the margins.

I've fallen kind of in love with The Mindy Project, and I've fallen kind of in love with the character Mindy Lahiri, all of which means I've fallen kind of in love with Mindy Kaling. There's something uniquely subversive about the three of them.
