Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy are trying to find God everywhere, chasing them cowboys and killers from hell, the corners of the three saints. Jesse is making a risky deal with the Cowboy killer.

What we have in "The Tombs" is an attempt to do good work over bad. While the episode has its problems even on its own merits, it at least tries to tell a coherent story about the ways Jesse's childhood has shaped his adult life.

Dominic Cooper is at his best this season as Jesse grapples with the moral ramifications of his actions. He may not have a pulpit, but he briefly visits hellfire down upon the lowlifes clamoring around him.
