A studious unicorn pony named Twilight Sparkle is sent to the town of Ponyville to learn about friendship by her mentor Princess Celestia. Twilight becomes close friends with five other ponies, each of whom represents a different face of friendship, and Twilight discovers herself to be a key part of the magical artifacts known as the 'Elements of Harmony'. Now charged to learn more, Twilight and her new friends face life's challenges from personal problems to grave threats to the land with a growing appreciation of the friendship they share and the magic it makes possible.
