The sixth season of this crime drama opens with Beckett accepting a marriage proposal from Castle. However, their road to the altar gets a little bumpy when Beckett also accepts a new high-profile job in Washington, D.C. Castle gets a glimpse at what parenthood would be like a second time when he and Beckett temporarily care for a baby who was carried into a church by a man dying from gunshot wounds.

The fact that even Fillion sometimes has to stretch beyond his normal limits to keep all the pieces in place can be attributed to the fact that Castle is many different shows, many of them half-assed.

It may not have been anything earth-shattering, but it got the job done, and it felt like a classic old-school Castle episode, and that's enough of a cause for celebration, really, in and of itself.
