The shocking thing about the episode is that none of the other Pearsons even realized how or why that would be hurtful. They need to check their privilege, though, because Randall wouldn't do that to any of them.

It is also worth mentioning the realness that is felt throughout Kate and Rebecca's moment during the IVF scene. It's a scene you rarely see on television and honestly, it's only something that couples going through it know and understand.

This Is Us continues to start the season off on a quieter note, which is oftentimes when the show finds its most beautiful character moments.
