I want this show to feel as crazy as it did last finale and this premiere. But to be that crazy, you pretty much can't be a TV show, where there needs to be some sort of status quo.

Missing in action this week was Matt Davis's Alaric, although hopefully that will be rectified soon. There is so much tasty goodness packed into the episode that it seems unappreciative to complain about one character being absent.

In traditional Vampire Diaries fashion, the finale of season 2 offers plenty of twists and turns, topped with a few cliff hangers for fans to dwell on until next season, the most intriguing of which will be the role reversal of Damon and Stefan.
