A new season begins with much more challenges and adventures that follows the daily activity and struggle of the crew of the Red Dwarf, who upon going in a mission to space, find themselves the only humans who survive after the mysterious accident, the thing that challenges them. In this new season, the crew struggle against losing their memory.

It might be less ambitious than later series, but there's a freshness and warmth to the character comedy in series two that became harder to sustain as the storytelling grew bigger.
