The Quibi reboot is a chaotic neutral at best-host Chance the Rapper is too classy and good-hearted for the role; he takes no pleasure in wreaking havoc on any of his guests.

Old host Ashton Kutcher has been replaced by Chance the Rapper, whose easy charm and good-natured humor is a key reason this series works.

I similarly hoped to enjoy Chance the Rapper's revival of MTV's celebrity prank series Punk'd-because Chance is charming, handsome, talented, et cetera-but the quick-bite format doesn't give the pranks enough room to build.

I don't like pranks to begin with, but Punk'D ultimately made me feel very old, and very out-of-touch, because I didn't recognize a single celebrity being punk'd here. Who are these people?

Its singular nature means each prank fits a single quibi well and makes for a complete viewing which is something most of the quibis here can't claim.

The "Punk'd" formula has been a success for years, so no doubt some will find the new version hilarious. For me, it was the rare and inconsequential clunker in a largely shining debut for Quibi.
