Outsiders - Season 1 (2016)
A struggle for power and control set in the mysterious hills of modern-day Appalachia centers on the Farrells family, a family of outsiders who've been in these parts since before anyone can remember. Living off the grid and above the law on their mountaintop homestead, they are prepared to use any means necessary to protect their off-the-grid way of life in rural Kentucky.

Well, it's not great, but it's okay. The multiple storylines, some slow-burning intrigue and plenty of tension make something reasonably watchable. Whether that's enough to sustain it for 13 episodes remains to be seen.
March 01, 2016
Violent, gritty, entertaining Appalachian family drama.
January 25, 2016
This is a firmly grounded and compelling drama that's both ripe for lampooning on Saturday Night Life and rich in story possibilities.
January 22, 2016
It will take more episodes to ultimately settle on where Outsiders ranks, but it certainly seems different - at least on a surface level.
January 29, 2016
If you can get past the thick accents there's a wealth of multifaceted characters to root for and enough story to keep you entertained during the inaugural run.
January 25, 2016
A depressing slog through the backwoods.
January 26, 2016
An exhausting trek through mountain muck. An epic American tragedy may be concealed behind all those bad teeth and worse accents, but in the early going (I've seen only one episode) the slog toward uncovering it is unbearable.
