The political comedy, starring Nick Nolte and Sela Ward, is both genuinely funny and genuinely moving, displaying a kind of rigor in its storytelling that is frequently lost on networks new to original programming.
October 27, 2016
Graves is more optimistic than Veep and far more low-key than Scandal, and its aided in its ambitions by a fantastic cast.
October 12, 2016
Not quite a Capra-esque redemption fable, not quite a satirical lampoon and rarely the vehicle to capitalize on Nolte's many strengths, the show about the toll of the presidency made very little impact on me.
October 17, 2016
In its moments, Graves can be quite persuasive, even moving. (It can be corny too, but corn can work.)
October 13, 2016
Whether you're with her or want to make America great again, Graves is the timely political comedy you didn't know you needed to see.
October 14, 2016
You probably need to be left-leaning or at least politically neutral to enjoy the new Epix comedy Graves, which begins Sunday, though really everybody should savor Nick Nolte's performance in it. The guy was born to be a growly old man.
