In a new season, there are strong challenges posed by the Group through new unexpected risks. The group lands in an unknown area in search of the expected survivors there. On the other hand, Morgan and Alicia find a survivor quite unexpectedly as the group struggles to do more but faces more challenges.

It was a clever-enough break from format with a fun action sequence and some nice character development for Morgan, if you can put aside the "what is even happening anymore" feeling that's descended on Season 5.

"Channel 4" wasn't the return Fear the Walking Dead needed as the season continues spiraling along with this uneventful Good Samaritan subplot.

I really liked this episode. We got to hear what everyone was thinking as to why they needed to help others. And how they plan to accomplish their goals.

The Fear the Walking Dead midseason premiere helped fans connect with the characters in a way that had been a little lacking in the first half of the season.

Most of the midseason return is us watching the finished documentary. In other words, you're not missing much if you choose to skip over this one.

Can we talk? Fear the Walking Dead didn't really ask us that in its midseason premiere Sunday, it just dove right in and started yakking, filling I can only guess how many of Al's precious tapes.
