Hakeem's unearned bravado frequently makes him insufferable, so the vulnerability he radiates throughout the crisis and its aftermath is rewarding, whetever the cost, though he still manages to treat his family poorly throughout.

Like many successful pop songs, Empire has a great beat and terrible lyrics. Unlike most successful pop songs, its tempo is completely out of whack, and it's glaringly obvious.
