DCs Legends of Tomorrow - Season 3 Episode 01: Aruba-Con
Rattled by recent events, the Legends dive into work which finds them investigating an Anachronism in a Viking settlement in the New World. The Legends realize that the Norsemen are worshipping an artifact as their god and are surprised by the artifact’s origin. For the first time, Sara is worried that they might need back up when Damien Darhk shows up. Meanwhile, Jax finds a loophole that could potentially change history, but it is a risk he is willing to take.

This episode still had the strong core of great relationships and solid acting that they spun the jokes around. But they pushed pretty hard on the "loveable screw ups" angle, almost a little too hard, which keeps the episode from being perfect.

Got all that? If not, well, long story short, it takes half of the premiere just to get the Legends back to doing what they do best: irresponsibly traveling through time.

Some of the status quo changes in the premiere are a bit head-scratching given how things ended last spring. Despite all that, the series; distinctive sense of humor and whimsical sense of adventure remain firmly intact.

While their season three premier wasn't as awe inspiring as some of their other offerings, it was still Legends of Tomorrow at its core, and all of the relationships that make it great are still there.

More than pretty much any series on television, Legends of Tomorrow continues to reinvent itself with each passing year - and Season 3 turns the lovable, time-traveling misfits into the ultimate long-shot heroes who still happen to save the day.

Amid the mess they created, these misfits were joking about it and poking fun at themselves, and that's missing far too often on shows like this.Even if Legends doesn't always have the best team or the best plot, they have that going for them.
