The drama follows the life of a teenager living in South Florida, a teenage miracle named David. David joins a magnetic school for academically gifted youth and tries to reach his dream and move away from the poverty line. David, played by newcomer Akeley McDowell, lives between two different worlds as he travels between the streets he lives in and the school he joins.
