In a comedy series that tells of more mysterious comedy, where the series begins when Darren and Samantha collide with each other, fall in love and get married. She told Samantha Darren that she was a witch, did not go well, but Darren decided he wanted her to be a normal homemaker and not to practice magic. However, when Darren's former girlfriend invites the couple to a dinner, Samantha responds to the girl's insults with a little twinkle of her nose.

It's all a lot of nonsense taken in stride, and when it's all over, one is left with the feeling, "I wonder what they'll be up to next week?"

For 1964, a conventional suburban comedy with a most unconventional witch in the lead role was inventive, certainly more inventive than a certain Hollywood remake, so you can hardly blame producers for milking Samantha's trademark nose twitch

It's so annoyingly loveable that you can't help but switch your brain off and go along with it.

That it lost that touch was regrettable, but that it was able to tell smart stories within that framework, even for a little while, was remarkable.
