While Oliver tries to survive inside the prison, a new set of unknown committees appear in Star City, and on the other hand Oliver will face a difficult position - an alliance with an old enemy.

Most of the setup in this episode is compelling, though the rushed execution hinders the overall impact of these plot twists. Felicity's sudden transformation into an embittered shut-in comes across as especially forced.

"Unmasked" makes for an uneven hour that still gets to the end of the first half of the season with a few moments that set up where some of our favorites stand in their relationships and hinting at what's to come for some new additions.

This whirlwind episode was satisfying, even if packed to the gills. There's nothing like seeing Oliver Queen back in uniform -- except, perhaps, Oliver casually strolling into SCPD, leather pants and all, knowing no one can touch him.

I've felt the best way to freshen the series up would be to let someone else actually take over for Oliver. Whether this new story wrinkle will lead to that... is another story, but at least there's potential

"Unmasked," season 7's midseason finale and the strongest episode of the season, revealed that the new Green Arrow is none other than Emiko Queen... Arrow is already putting its own spin on the character.

Nary a second of this episode went wasted. Instead, the fall finale dove right into exploring what Oliver's world looks like as a freed man... And in doing so, it addressed things I didn't even think to wonder about.
