This story begins ten years after they graduated from high school, where Romy and Michelle did not manage to do exactly everything. In the end, Romy and Michelle decide to make their way through high school reunions for 10 years and fabricate a perfect lie about their lives to convince their classmates, which makes everything surprising.

Robin Schiff's screenplay is filled with memorable zings ("You're just as cute as me," Michele assures Romy. "In some cultures, maybe even cuter."), Sorvino and Kudrow are an irresistible team, and Janeane Garofalo shows up to steal scenes with aplomb.
