Yasmine Aker is an actress, singer-songwriter known for Agent Carter (2015), Out of the Ashes (2015) and Divergent (2014). She is proficient in three languages: English, Arabic, and Farsi. Yasmine is a member of SAG-AFTRA & ACTRA and based out of Los Angeles, California.Yasmine was born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Iranian parents and moved to Canada as a child with her family. She began performing at an early age starring in school plays and sang soprano with the Voices of Bahá Choir for a performance at Carnegie Hall, New York, during the Conference of the Arts 2002.In addition to her interests in the arts, she has a passion for public service and was awarded the TD Canada Trust Scholarship for Community Leadership. Yasmine studied psychology at York University and the University of Western Ontario in London.After competing in the Miss World franchise as the titleholder, Miss London 2006, and the national title of Miss World Canada Photogenic 2006, she turned her sights to a career in film and television. She has starred in various motion pictures and television series in Canada and US.She embarked on a solo singing career in 2009 with the Grammy nominated Canadian production team KUYA, who have worked with international stars such as Nelly Furtado, Akon, Genuwine, and Nelly.Yasmine moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to continue her work in film and television and to work with American music producers and musicians. Her 2014 EP The Sun, Stars and All the White Lights combines elements of indie-pop, soul and electronica - infused with her middle-eastern roots. Hide
