EPISODE
V - Season 1 (1984-1985)
The series tells of a group of the humanoid who resemble a lizard. They try to take a new experience by resisting microorganisms and trying to regain control of the Earth. It seems that the battle will not be easy as some humans work with these beings normally.

For pure enjoyment, there's nothing better than V.

Even at the risk of losing my street cred, this is a show that I enjoyed much more than I probably should have. With the right mind set, this is strangely addictive stuff and well worth a view.

Save for the awesome holographic set piece featured in episode four ("The Deception"), the series was less inventive than reductive.

The problem is that all originality in the concept was really spent with that first miniseries, and by the end of the second the characters and struggle became stale.

V is the first really rousing Saturday afternoon serial to air on a Friday night.

On the surface it might be a series about giant spaceships and lizard-like alien overlords, but it doesn't take much digging to uncover a parable about the rise of fascism and the second world war.

The story of Earth being invaded by friendly-looking "Visitors" who actually turn out to be man-eating reptile people was pure 1950s sci-fi claptrap... but unfolding over the course of a two-night miniseries, it was cheesy good fun.
