Untitled MadTV Revival - Season 1
A new cast featuring an eclectic mix of stand-ups, impressionists, and sketch performers brings the FOX show back to life. Cast members from the original late-night series also will appear as special guest stars in each episode, reprising some of MADtv’s most popular characters.

The sketches repeatedly rely on obvious jokes, and the general vibe just seems low-rent, even when compared to its Fox predecessor.

If there is a really brilliant sketch, it's going to end up all over your Facebook feed the following day as the video goes viral. Wait to see a few of those and then maybe MadTV can turn itself into appointment television once again.

The time is ripe for the return of MADtv. That's why it's so disappointing that the long-delayed Season 15 captures so little of what made the show work in its heyday.
