Could The Messengers deliver some kind of coherent story without sensationalizing, or worse, trivializing the beliefs of millions? Who knows? But skipping it shouldn't be the end of the world.

The only episode available for review has the feel of a kid dumping out his toy box -- hey, look! It's a bullied teen with superhuman strength!

The oddest thing about The Messengers is that its tone is somehow askew, like a dress that looks amazing on the rack but doesn't quite fit when worn by an actual human being.
