This new 3D adaptation of an old favorite felt like a splash of cold water on a winter's day. In other words, not terribly pleasant.

The animation is a little unexceptional and video-gamey, but clean and detailed - it's not afraid to hold on a shot and let us comprehend the fantastical images we're seeing.
