The Burning Bed
A story full of criminal events. After thirteen years of physical abuse by her husband, Micky, Francine Hughes told her children to put on their coats and wait for them in their car. Then the gasoline pours over the bed where Mickey sleeps in their house and puts the fire in the bed. Hughes is being tried for first-degree murder, and by a jury of her peers she is not guilty of temporary madness. It is widely believed that the judge and jury are largely sympathetic to Fransen's plight and feel that Micky's murder was justified.
