The movie presents a discussion between the old lady Rose with her daughter Patty and granddaughter Allison who meet up to go through the end of the week with her. By setting there, they start to talk and Rose begins to recount an old story of her about a relationship amongst her and a lady named Louise.

Performances all around are strong, with Piper Laurie's Rose taking the lead and directing us through the story's narrative. We are invited to soak in the retro atmosphere as the story unfolds at a leisurely pace.
