Over the Hedge
The movie follows a mischievous con-artist raccoon named R.J. and a sensitive turtle named Verne. Together, Verne and R.J. form an unlikely friendship as they learn to co-exist with, and even exploit, a strange new world called suburbia while stealing food that humans consume and waste.

Adventure, cute and cuddly animals, and some wit make for a wonderful experience!September 10, 2008
Caffeine freak critters, duplicitous raccoons, a highly talented cast and Bill Shatner in overacting overdrive -- it's like coming out of hibernation and waking in an animator's playground.June 22, 2006
An endearingly cheerful animated feature from DreamWorks.July 14, 2007
I watched the film with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised by its heart and its humor.May 15, 2012
A colorful and engaging comedy of suburbia's encroachment into the wilderness and its consequences for a motley crew of animals just awakened from hibernation.August 07, 2008
The story is no grabber, and the sight gags are labored, but the animation is sleekly pretty, and it goes by painlessly enough.April 14, 2013
If Over the Hedge aims solely to entertain, it does so in a way that's mildly amusing but mostly hackneyed. If it aims to instruct, it weakens its own argument with the plethora of product tie-ins.April 29, 2009
A surprisingly very good animated adventure that relishes in simplicity...May 24, 2006
Over The Hedge is cute without being cutesy, satirical without being too cynical, and just a whole lot of fun.April 18, 2007
The final showdown, in which the critters tangle with security-rigged lawn flamingos and garden gnomes, would have made Rube Goldberg proud.April 14, 2013
The story has a loony, slapstick verve, and the star-studded voice work is uniformly entertaining.June 29, 2006
It misses the mark a couple of times but in the main, it's good clean fun.
