Deeply affected by the death of his wife, who has been killed in the hands of a well-known gang ' the Lonely Hearts', a young courageous and intelligent homicide detective, does his best and struggles against tracking them down, as he follows each move for them, in order to save people from their danger.

A good, not great, movie that benefits from nice period detail and some strong performances (especially Hayek and Leto), even if the real-life Beck was a heavyset, homely mess not anywhere near as attractive as Hayek.
