Driving by his deep will of achieving peace and end slavery across America, Lincoln, the president of the United States, who has begun his second term, struggles against ending the Civil War, but he first has to amend the constitution for achieving both goals, but he has to take the acceptance of the majority of the parliament members.

Masterfully crafted as it is -- and it certainly captures the man and a moment in time -- Lincoln comes across as a pious history lesson, and, strangely for Spielberg, lacks the entertainment and emotion we may have expected.
