Since when does France adopt the lazy Hollywood model of refurnishing old, safe ideas, rather than challenging us with daring new ones?July 18, 2014
Look, I know it's full of clichés but it's such a delicate film. It won me over completely. It's so authentic.July 05, 2014
Passable family entertainment...Director Nicolas Vanier is a little lazy at times - the film features one of the most unconvincing gunshot wounds in dog movie history - but it hits all the right buttons.April 21, 2015
Beautiful film about WWII has intense themes, drinking.July 01, 2014
When you see the keyart images of a young boy with a beautiful white dog at his side, you could be forgiven for thinking this is a lightweight family adventure. The elements of Nicolas Vanier's enchanting film however, are far richerJuly 07, 2014
A tale of innocence and companionship that is thankfully nowhere near as traumatic as Old Yeller.April 10, 2015
It's nearly impossible to screw up a tale of friendship like this, with "Belle and Sebastian" hitting all the highlights of harmony and valor. Cute dog close-ups help too.March 31, 2016
Simple and charming, Belle & Sebastian is not without fault, but still has plenty of lovable traits that come together to form a warm and largely undemanding view.December 22, 2014
Sweet, but increasingly preposterous.
