In the end, Noel and her friends decided to use this gift to spoil his plans and save their village from the devastation it might cause.

This is a children's film made by adults who think they knwo what children want.

Against all odds, the film, though not short on Yuletide schmaltz, is pretty good, and a huge improvement on such 'family fare' as the dread Nativity franchise.

Good humour and a sincere message cut through the treacle to make an infectiously festive family movie, which wears its tinsel-covered heart on its sleeve.

Star-studded Irish holiday movie is cliched but sweet.

This Northern Irish family movie is desperately short on original ideas.
