Posy Sterling is a British actor working across film, television and theatre. She began her career in theatre, where she worked extensively for several years before breaking into screen. She broke through on film with her first lead role as Molly Brown in Lollipop, a BBC Film and BFI-backed feature directed by Daisy-May Hudson. Her performance earned her the BIFA Award for Breakthrough Performance and a BAFTA Rising Star nomination, and the film’s impact has continued beyond the screen, including parliamentary discussion panels in which she participated.
Her recent and forthcoming screen work includes the socially resonant series Dirty Business, BBC’s World on Fire (Series 2), ITV’s Trigger Point, Channel 4 drama Person of Interest, and the feature film The Outrun.
Her theatre work includes productions at the National Theatre and the Donmar Warehouse, including The Cherry Orchard, which transferred to New York, and Dixon and Daughters. In 2023, she was named one of Screen International’s ‘Stars of Tomorrow’.
Born in Manchester, grew up in the Midlands, and now based in London, Posy continues to develop original projects, with her work often intersecting with socially and politically significant themes. Hide
