He is enrolled in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts, majoring in General Studies. Mason has made 38 consecutive starts along the offensive line at Michigan and on August 30, 2014, Cole became the first true freshman in Michigan history to start a season opener on the offensive line. Before switching to center before the 2016 season, Mason played left tackle.
