David George Orrells was born in London, England. He is the son of Anne Orrells, a public sector worker for a secondary school and Peter Orrells a retired postal worker. After his parents divorce David stayed with his mother and older sister Jennifer Claire Orrells.He was educated at Highbury Grove Secondary School, known for its Alumni such as Peter Ebden, Sid Owen, Jake Wood, Joe Swash and Charlie AllenDavid trained as a primary school teacher for 3 years at Middlesex University and followed the career for 4 years before deciding to pursue acting as a career.
