Benji Lanpher was born on January 1st, 1984 in Hennepin County, Minnesota as Benjamin Moore Lanpher. He is named after his 3x great grandfather, Clement C. Moore who wrote 'Twas The Night Before Christmas. Benji is an Emmy nominated cinematographer known for his work as a Director of Photography for Life Below Zero on the National Geographic Channel, for Vice Media and Vice on HBO. He has worked as a cinematographer documenting in some of the most dangerous places and situations around the world. He also appears on NBC's The Island with Bear Grylls as an embedded camera operator/cast member who was castawayed on an island for 28 with no food or water, only the clothes on his back. Benji has been documenting his own life beginning when he was 14 years in what is now a 17 year project. Hide
